Ray, a qualified full time mountain bike coach is the MIAS course provider.

He has mountain biked extensively in the UK and Europe, and also holds the following relevant qualifications:
  • Teaching Certificate in Further Education (University of Manchester)
  • Teaching Certificate for further and adult education (City & Guilds)
  • N.V.Q. Assessors Certificate (City & Guilds)
  • First Aid Certificate (Rescue & Emergency Care)

His successful reputation in mountain bike coaching to intermediate standard, is both well know and well documented. Ray has featured in Mountain Bike Rider (MBR) magazine, Mens Health magazine and the UK's best selling health magazine Healthy.

Mike completed his MIAS Instructor Award in 2003 and continued his mountain bike training, gaining MIAS Trainer and Assessor status in 2005.

Mike continued assisting in delivering both the Skill & Leadership courses, prior to his appointment of skills course provider in April 2006.

"Due to the demand for our skills courses, it was decided that we needed a high calibre coach, to guarantee the continued success of M.B.I. Mike demonstrated excellent riding skills throughout his training.
However, it was Mike's coaching skills to both beginner and intermediate riders, which was of paramount importance in reaching the final decision, to appoint Mike as the skills course provider," says Ray

The Academy’s management is comprised of approximately 15 people, not only professional athletes but also individuals with entrepreneurial and organizational experience. We would like to remind you that the Academy is a member of A.I.F. - Italian Association of Educators (Associazione Italiana Formatori).

The athletes that are part of the Academy include:

Paolo Caramellino, Italian champion for several years running of Motocross, vice world champion of mountain bike downhill in 1993, and a one time speed record holder at 167.3 km/h;

Luca Bonanomi, world BMX champion, 4 time Italian champion of mountain bike downhill, for several years he was one of the world’s strongest downhill competitors;

Alberto Limatore, vice world champion of bike trial, winner of the specialty’s World Cup and 7 time Italian champion

Andrea Pizzi, strong national cross country ski runner, with a degree in Motor Sciences, he is a researcher specialized in bio-mechanics and collaborates with Italian and foreign universities through his center of sports medicine. He is also a journalist and writes for the magazine Ciclismo on topics related to medicine and trials of different means.
